How 3 Designers Styled A Room For Design On A Dime

Every year, designers and tastemakers showcase their talents for a great cause during Housing Works’ Design on a Dime. Held in New York City and Miami, this event features dozens of unique room vignettes created by designers with items from top home décor brands, along with pieces from artists or sourced through vintage or antique shops. The featured items are then sold to attendees at charitable prices, and proceeds go to carry out the worthy mission of Housing Works.

For this year’s event in New York City, Viyet partnered with a few standout talents — Foley & CoxTaylor Spellman & Sotheby’s International Realty, and Peter Sandel — by donating select items to be featured in their vignettes. Their beautifully designed rooms gave us a new perspective on design, and also continue to inspire us to give back to a worthy cause.

Chic neutrals mingle with metallics and a hint of blue in this art-filled space by Foley & Cox.

Taylor Spellman’s room design proves the power of shape. The flowing curves of the sofa contrast with the bold straight lines of the bookcase, coffee table, and the x-base benches.

Peter Sandel

Peter Sandel’s design is an eclectic yet sophisticated mix of colors, textures, materials, and finishes that bring a unique depth to the space.
