Our Favorite Winter Décor Inspiration From Scandinavian Homes

Above, the living space of blogger Melina of the Finnish lifestyle blog MINISHOW shows just how powerful a simple holiday decoration (a white star) can be in a minimal interior.

The Scandinavian approach to décor is definitely having a moment. Whether you’re into the minimalist look of all-white rooms punctuated by light woods and the occasional black accessory, or can’t get enough of the Hygge movement that champions all things cozy, you can’t go far on your Instagram feed without seeing a perfect example of Scandi style. Thanks to the chilly climate found in Scandinavian countries, they also have excellent inspiration for winter décor. Here’s just a few of our favorite ideas culled from Scandinavian interiors:

From the other day ❄️✨ Fra den dagen det var winter wonderland her – i kveld stormer og regner det ute 💦🌪 Ordentlig sørlandsjulevær faktisk 😂🎄 Nå er altså juletreet fra @multitrend kommet frem igjen, og jeg er like fornøyd som i fjor – det blir ordentlig Disney jul på 123! Støpte nåler gjør det veldig naturtro 😍🙌🏼 Mangler bare julelukten 🙈✨❄️ Ps; @multitrend kjører tilbud på trærne akkurat nå 👌🏼👌🏼 #multitrend #xmastree #jultre #julen2017 #naturtro #scandinaviandesign #scandinavianinterior #roomforinspo #passion4interior #nordicinspiration #iboligendk #interior123 #boligplussminstil #nordichomes #rom123 #finahem #interiormagasinet #interior4all #mynordicroom #delmittbilde #inspiremeinterior #ukensinstagrammer #jegfremsnakker #norwegianhomeinspo //samarbeid

Seasonal colors like red, green, blue, gold, and silver are always delightful, but if you’d like something a bit more unexpected, try a dash of charcoal gray — like on the table of @minishowblogi.

Add Natural Greenery

Eat, drink and be merry ✨

@Hejmonica also goes for gorgeous charcoal gray on her table, but nods to the season by integrating snippets of pine instead of flowers for a centerpiece (and on top of her modern bar cabinet).
