Things We Love: September Edition

A new season brings a fresh perspective — and a good excuse to indulge in something fabulous for our homes. From fresh fragrances to bold art, here’s what we’re loving this month.

Fresh Fragrance

MCMC Fragrances Maine candle: Founded by two sisters and based out of Brooklyn, MCMC Fragrances specializes in small-batch scents. Our current favorite is the Maine candle, which fills a room with a fresh blend of clary sage, pine, and sea air.

Bold Art

Lee Crum is a Tennessee-based photographer who specializes in portraiture. His latest compositions of unusual relics and objects are created through several processes. He uses scanners, negatives, Polaroids, film, collage cutouts, and tintype and ambrotype processes, among other tools. Each individual piece is created through a raw and very authentic interpretation of these techniques, making them one-of-a-kind, such as The Elephant Girl shown above.

Sweet Treats

Parisian Froufrous from Maison Boissier: Packed in a gorgeous tin and flavored with classic French fruits, Parisian Froufrous from Maison Boissier makes a lovely gift (that you’ll want to keep for yourself).

Precious Porcelain

Venerable German company Rosenthal has created innovative tabletop designs crafted by superb artisans in the highest quality materials for over 100 years. Made with an utterly unique shape that resembles an ancient water vessel, this Tapio Wirkkala-designed vintage vase is made from white porcelain with a beaded collar for subtle textural interest. A sculptural choice fit for the most exclusive display shelf or mantel.

Peaceful Retreat

Amangiri, Canyon Point, Utah: It’s all about the stunning views at this minimalist retreat. Whether you take in the breathtaking rock formations of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument from the floor-to-ceiling windows in your room, or from the early morning hot air balloon rides that take off on the resort grounds, the natural backdrop makes for a getaway you’ll never forget.

Vibrant Sling Chairs

Lee Industries, a family-owned and operated company, has emerged as a leader in upholstery manufacturing and in the creation of innovative, American traditional furniture design. These outdoor chairs feature a contemporary stainless steel frame and open weave outdoor fabric.
