7 Before & Afters To Inspire Spring Makeovers

After months of winter, spring’s arrival never fails to get us into a makeover frame of mind. It’s the time of the year to clear out the cozier textures and darker colors from last season. In their place? Crisp fabrics and soft hues that make our interiors feel brighter and lighter. We’re taking inspiration from a few of our favorite bloggers, and the incredible before-and-afters they’ve featured. From impressive kitchen overhauls to an amazing exterior makeover, here are the projects that are getting our creativity flowing:

A Bold Living Room Gets A Light & Airy Makeover

This living room makeover by Driven By Decor made our jaws drop. The “after” looks so much bigger than the “before”, thanks to the new neutral color palette and the new pieces selected for the space. Though opting for a light-colored sectional made a difference, swapping the heavy-looking leather ottoman for a Lucite table did wonders for making the room seem larger. An “Old-World” Kitchen Gets An On-Trend Facelift

This kitchen by Becki Owens (with Jamie Bellessa) proves that introducing a new palette and adding the right accessories can make a room seem completely different. Take note at how many existing pieces were kept, but read completely different after a fresh coat of paint. The new countertop and tile work beautifully with the new color scheme, while the brass-and-black stools add a contemporary touch. See more at Becki Owens »

An Open Floorplan Gets A Coastal-Inspired Makeover

Open floorplans can be a challenge to decorate, especially when combined with a high ceiling. This makeover by Blackband Home & Design reconfigured the layout, creating a seating area where the dining area was in order to take maximum advantage of the windows and fireplace. The blue, white, and black color scheme also gives the living area a fresher feel that’s perfect for warmer weather. See more at Blackband Home & Design »

A Small Bedroom Goes Chic

Designer Vanessa Francis brought plenty of character to a standard bedroom in this fabulous makeover. Here, moldings add architectural interest, while a shapely headboard in a dimensional fabric and a bench make the space feel so much more luxe. See more at Vanessa Francis »

A Dated Ranch Gets Gracious Curb Appeal

This impressive makeover was submitted to Laurel Bern Interiors as a powerful example of curb appeal. A lot of work went into the “after”: A completely new color palette, architectural features, new stairs/walkway, a redesigned landscape, and even new light fixtures.
