Jamie is known for her polished, yet exuberant style. She embraces color and bold statements, but the fact that her aesthetic is rooted in the classics, renders the spaces she designs, timeless. With over 25 years of experience standing behind her and clients nationwide, above all, her work is irresistibly comfortable.
What inspired this career path for you?
I had moved to AZ from Manhattan and was asked to attend a luncheon for the Phoenix Symphony. I had grown up in the garment center, four generations, and had my own clothing line at 24. When I moved from Manhattan, it was after having had three department store windows featuring my clothing—all up and down 57th and Fifth! So I went to this luncheon, knowing no one, and not having a career or less, a job, and was approached by a woman who kindly asked whose suit I was wearing. I thought quickly, how the conversation may play out, and I responded with, “Mine”. She then asked who I was and I said, “Jamie Herzlinger,” to which she replied, “Oh my goodness. I have all your clothes! What are you doing in AZ?” I had the idea for my next career and went for it—I said, “I am doing interior design.” She hired me on the spot and the rest is history!
What is your go-to source for inspiration?
My go-to source for inspiration is usually fashion. The couture fashion shows and street wear in major cities always showcase the most amazing colors, textures, and patterns that easily translate into interiors.
Tell us about your creative process.
My creative process is a bit unconventional. At the start of a project, I like to go to a great play or opera—or I will watch period pieces, documentaries, or travel to a major city and spend days walking around.
Describe your style in 6 words or less.
My style is elegant, comfortable, functional, and timeless. This style translates in all facets of design.
What’s a staple in your tool kit?
My iPhone camera is a staple in my tool kit. I always have my camera ready to capture anything that could inspire my next design.
Who do you look up to in the design world?
My favorite designers are Jacques Garcia, Jacques Grange, and Elsie de Wolfe. I am always in awe of everything they create.
If you could design a space for anyone, what kind of space and for whom would it be?
If I could design a space for anyone it would be a master bedroom, as it is my space in my home. I would love to design a master suite for Beyoncé.

I have curated the pieces on Viyet over the years, obtained from all my travels, and used for beautiful photo shoots. I always seem to purchase the most must-have furnishings to complete a project. I hope these pieces go to a person that appreciates all their uniqueness.
What do you love about Viyet?
What I love about Viyet is the acknowledgement of a major secondary market for designer furnishings! You all have captured the market at the right time, thus making beautiful and stunning pieces, affordable to many! It is an amazing platform and one I am so excited to be a part of!
