6 Ways To Update Your Entryway For Fall

Left, bold floor-to-ceiling stripes set the stage for a stunning entry in this design by Antonino Buzzetta. Right, a striped ceiling and patterned walls draw the eye around an entryway by Miles Redd, featured in Elle Decor.

What’s true about personal style is also true about your home: First impressions count. Your entryway is the first interior space that guests see when they visit. However, what’s more pressing is the impression your entryway makes on you when you arrive home.  A messy entryway has a tendency to inspire stress, while a bare entryway can be a bit depressing. From a design standpoint, entryway decor should set the tone for your home while also adding a little bit of function. The easiest way to accomplish both is by starting with a console table and then adding a few well-chosen accessories. Here are just a few of our favorite pairings currently available at Viyet:

Hickory Chair Peony Console + Phyllis Morris Bijou Mirror + Boyd Lighting Duchess Wall Sconces

The slim drawers of the console are ideal for storing smaller items like keys, stationery, and other odds and ends. The starburst-style mirror adds personality, while the sconces bring a welcome glow to the entryway.

George Smith Console Table + Glen Cove Forest Collection Silver Leather Ottoman + Curtis Jere Metal Wall Sculpture Art

The 20″ depth of the George Smith console table means you can easily stow small ottomans underneath. The Glen Cove Forest Collection ottoman picks up the silver shine of the console’s nailhead details. Because both the table and ottoman have a more neutral look, you can get even more dramatic with your art — this vintage wall sculpture has serious statement appeal.

Vintage French Chinoiserie Style Console + Terry O’Neill Audrey Hepburn Portrait + Bliss Home Parisian Wall Sconces

For a more intimate, romantic feel, nothing beats the understated glamour of a vintage French cabinet. (Not to mention the fact that the cabinets offer plenty of storage space.) A stunning Audrey Hepburn portrait was a natural choice to pair with the lovely console, as was the crystal-detailed sconces.

Evan Lewis Regence Console Table + Evan Lewis Rousseau Mirror

If you’re lucky enough to have high ceilings, then you know that furniture and accessories have to have a bolder presence. This pairing draws the eye up, taking advantage of all that wall space.

Vintage Mid-Century Modern Bench + Custom Seagrass Log Basket + Custom Oil on Canvas

For those with larger entryways, a bench is a natural choice. A roomy basket is a must for stowing away shoes, while a large-scale abstract work brings an extra dose of style.

In a smaller entryway, you want to make sure that you’re not wasting a single square inch. Here, a petite column-like table offers just enough room for a basket (perfect for stowing keys), while a leaning mirror makes the most out of an entry’s petite proportions.
